![]() ![]() I’ve been in some fairly dark mental spaces before, moments when I thought that I might not make it, and that it would be better if I just snuffed out the light, if you know what I mean. The journey she takes serves as a great reminder that there’s so much life and experience out there just waiting for us. I’ve struggled with mental health issues like severe depression and anxiety for most of my life, so Nora’s story resonated deeply. Haig’s writing is beautiful and full of really vivid imagery, and I loved the Sliding Doors nature of each life Nora gets a taste of. This philosophical novel about Nora, a woman whose suicide attempt leads her to a literary purgatory, of sorts, that offers her glimpses into lives and loves that might’ve been, was unputdownable for me. ![]() ![]() That’s what Matt Haig’s The Midnight Library is. Just painfully, soul-crushingly, heartbreakingly lovely. ![]()
